Frequently Asked Questions

Aviation Engineering Services: Common Questions

Answers on aircraft parts, engines, MRO coordination and AOG support.

Aviation engineering services are the technical support functions that keep aircraft airworthy and economical to operate: engineering consultancy, sourcing of aircraft parts and engines, planning and coordination of maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) work, and rapid support when an aircraft is grounded. Safe Fly Aviation provides consultancy, aircraft parts sourcing, engine sales, leasing and exchange, MRO coordination and a 24/7 AOG desk for aircraft owners, operators and lessors worldwide.

Four engine families: CFM56 (Boeing 737 Classic and Next-Generation, Airbus A320 family), LEAP (A320neo, 737 MAX and C919), V2500 (A320 family and MD-90) and PT6A turboprops (for example King Air, Pilatus PC-12 and Cessna Caravan class aircraft). Support covers sourcing, sales, leasing and exchange, borescope inspection and life-limited-part (LLP) tracking coordination, and overhaul coordination. See the engine services section for details.

A part should arrive with a release certificate from the originating approved source, typically an FAA Form 8130-3, an EASA Form 1 or a certificate of conformity, plus traceability records. For life-limited parts, ask for back-to-birth records. Tell us at the quote stage which paperwork you require and we will confirm what is available for the part before you commit. Our parts certification and FAA 8130-3 guide explains each document.

Our AOG desk is staffed 24/7. Send the part number and any alternates, the aircraft type and registration, the airport where the aircraft is grounded, the deadline, and the condition and paperwork you need. We then source from our supplier network and coordinate shipping. Our guide on how to handle an AOG situation sets out what to prepare before you call.

Yes. Engines are available for outright purchase, exchange or lease, depending on what is on the market at the time. To get an accurate answer, send the engine model and dash number, the aircraft it will fly on, the status you need (serviceable, overhauled or as-removed), and the time and cycles requirements. We review status, records and life-limited parts with you before any commitment.

No. Safe Fly Aviation coordinates MRO work and advises on it; the maintenance is carried out by an approved maintenance organisation that holds the approvals needed for your aircraft or engine type, such as EASA Part-145, an FAA Part 145 repair station or the national equivalent. We help you shortlist providers, compare scope and turnaround, and keep the paperwork organised.

Yes. Safe Fly Aviation is based in New Delhi and handles requests from airlines, MROs, lessors and private owners worldwide. Send your requirement by the form, phone or WhatsApp and we will reply with the options available for your location and timeline.
